Dumbbell Lunges: Your Butt's Best Friend
Dumbbell Lunges
Lunges are one of the most important exercises for targeting the legs and butt. Executing lunges properly stimulates all of the muscles in your lower body: the quadriceps, hamstrings, calves and particularly your glutes. See videos below. There are several variations of the lunge, including step back lunges, reverse lunges, walking lunges, and stationary lunges, to name a few. The lunge is a simple, but very effective, exercise for the legs. It involves balance and coordination which is very useful for sports as well as muscle development. The bodyweight version is the easiest to start with, though it can also be done with dumbbells or a barbell. Be sure to include a variety of lunges in your leg training.
