Proven Strategies For Getting In Shape Fast
Getting In Shape Fast
Vacation is just around the corner and you're not quite beach ready. Your class reunion is coming up and you want to look your best. Maybe you've got a hot date. You need to get in shape quick.
How to get into shape: Getting in shape fast is going to require a commitment to yourself. The harder you are willing to work, the faster your progress will be. There are no shortcuts here, and as they say, "There is no elevator to success, you have to take the stairs." But, you can do it by following a few basic strategies. Weight Training For Weight LossTo see results in the shortest amount of time possible, you must lift weights. Weight training is the number one thing you can do to reduce body fat and build muscle. Start with a beginner exercise program. Weight train a minimum of three days per week on non-consecutive days, 30-60 minutes per day. See 3day workout routines for examples of different training schedules. Use heavier weights. Using a weight that is heavy enough to allow you to perform no more than 8-12 repetitions with good form will maximize muscle growth. Don't worry ladies, lifting heavier weights gives your body definition. Don't fall for the high rep/light-weight toning myth. Burn Calories With CardioGetting in shape fast also requires that you perform cardio on a regular basis. Cardiovascular exercises burn calories. You will want to perform a minimum of 4-5 cardio sessions per week for 30-45 minutes for the fastest results. See examples of cardiovascular exercises. Some of my favorite calorie burners are stair climbers, jumping rope and spinning classes. If you decide to perform weight training and cardio exercises on the same day, lift weights first. Weight training requires more energy than cardio, and you need to be fresh when you start. Eat SmartYou can exercise eight days per week, but if your eating habits still need work your progress will be negligible. For fastest results, eat 5-6 smaller meals per day, and keep your total calories below that which you are burning. How many calories should you eat per day to lose weight? Prepare your meals at home where you have control over portion sizes and content. Keep fats to a minimum and make sure you're getting enough protein to support new muscle growth.
