Besides the tremendous reward of achieving your ideal body weight, maintaining a healthy weight range can reduce or eliminate many of today's common health problems. You can make the decision right now to make a positive change in your body and in your life. Unless you are among the fortunate few, reaching and maintaining a healthy weight range requires exercise and a sound nutritional program. The more energy and effort you are willing to commit to both, the faster your results will come. Although an ideal body weight chart can be a helpful tool in assessing your level of fitness, do not let it be your only measure of success. The way you look and feel are far more important than the number on the scale.
To use the ideal body weight charts more accurately, first determine your body frame size: Wrap your thumb and middle finger around around the smallest part of the opposite wrist. If your thumb and finger overlap, then you are small framed (lower end of weight range). If they touch, then you are medium framed (middle of weight range). If they have a gap, then you are large framed (higher end of weight range). Now, use these ideal body weight charts to see how you measure up.
